Kiva - more borrowers than lenders!

I was just scanning some of my bookmarks this morning and in the Kiva Chronicles I found this:

Kiva continues to face chronic shortages in businesses to fund as we try to accomodate the growing lender interest while managing risk on our platform. We've limited user transactions to $25 per user for the rest of the month to deal with the shortage. We live in crazy times!

Checking out the site I can see they only have about half-a-dozen businesses up at the moment, when previously the smallest number I've seen is around thirty, and it's been over a hundred. I hope potential lenders aren't put off, but I do find it cheering that there's so much interest.
