Another type of Fair Trade

I usually pick up Fair Trade coffee since I can afford it, and it's a small thing I can do to help spread money around. So I was checking out that section of the food aisle yesterday, and found Good African Coffee which is a variation on that idea, and I think an improvement. An African-run firm out to make a profit, but as well as paying above the going price to the farmers, willing to invest half that profit back into community projects. I consider it in the same vein as microfinance, letting the people on the ground decide what they want to do with their money.

I haven't tried the coffee yet, and I'm not the best judge since I drink coffee out of vending machines quite happily, but I'll try to report back.
