The weekend had its ups and downs

On Saturday IBM celebrated 50 years at Hursley Place. There were stalls and kite flying and classic cars, but the main highlight for most people was a flypast by a Spitfire.

They're associated with Hursley since the design team moved into Hursley after they were bombed in Southampton in 1940. I've seen a flypast before (see this entry) but didn't have my camera with me. It isn't a great photo, but it's a lot better than the shots of sky that I mostly ended up with!

I went back to where my brother-in-law's car, which I'd borrowed, was parked and this was what I found. It's the middle car and amazingly once the trees were removed there were only a couple of dents in the roof. But this was the most memorable event of the day for me! Tree
