An unexpected microfinance advocate

I was reading this interesting article about Barack Obama's mother and found she was involved in some of the earliest microfinance schemes in Indonesia. She advised Bank Rakyat Indonesia on their policies for loaning to small scale entrepreneurs some years before the Grameen Bank was started.
