I was trying to pick out the handful of constellations I recognise, but there seemed to be a lot more stars around than usual. It was only after a car drove past and its headlights illuminated the tree above me, that I realised the extra stars were the very first blossoms glowing white in the dark.
I think the tree is of the cherry family and there are no leaves yet, but it always produces a wonderful show of white/pink blossom in the early spring.
